The Quest

Quest Edmonton

10504 104 Ave, Edmonton, AB T5J 0C4 This Starbucks is located in a new concrete high rise residential tower on the outskirts of downtown Edmonton. We had the privilege of being the recipient of the City’s public art sculpture at our front entrance which depicts the four elements of fire, water, air and wind. The store is across the street from Grant Mac Ewan University and was designed for the student population and the condo residents above. We sought to incorporate different types of seating to accommodate a large study area which is anchored by an enormous fourteen- foot long community table that is made from local barn flooring.  High top tables along the windows serve the extremely studious types. At the front of the store, we made a lounge where students could relax and connect with their fellow classmates. Of course there are plenty of outlets for laptops throughout the store and especially at the community table.

Notable Store Elements

  • Unique space with soaring 25 foot high ceilings
  • Hardwood planks that adorn the walls are repurposed packing crates from around the world that were destined to be crushed and sent to a landfill
  • The community board is made by a local blacksmith who flamed the raw steel panels; these same steel panels clad the front casework
  • 15 foot high coffee mural to illustrate the bean to cup story is displayed on the wall as you walk into the store
