Please note the Starbucks Annual Meeting of Shareholders is a ticketed event. On Jan. 25, 2013, we mailed to our shareholders of record a Notice of Internet Availability of Proxy Materials (the “Notice”) containing instructions on how to access our Proxy Statement and fiscal 2012 Annual Report to Shareholders. The Notice also provides instructions on how to vote online, or by telephone, and includes instructions on how to receive a paper copy of the proxy materials by mail. The Notice serves as an admission ticket for one shareholder to attend the Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Jan. 25, 2013, we also mailed paper copies of the proxy materials to certain shareholders. If you received a paper copy of the proxy materials in the mail, the Proxy Statement includes an admission ticket for one shareholder to attend the Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
Each attendee must present the Notice, an admission ticket or other proper form of documentation (as described in the section “Annual Meeting Information” in the proxy statement) to be admitted.
In addition, please be prepared to display a government issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport or state-issued identification. Prudent security measures will be taken for the safety of all attendees. Compliance with posted signage is required.
Shareholders holding shares in a joint account may be admitted to the meeting if they provide proof of joint ownership and both shareholders follow the admission requirements described above. We will not be able to accommodate non-shareholder guests at the annual meeting.
The meeting will include:
- A review of the company’s recent performance
- Voting on proposals described in the Proxy Statement, which can be viewed along with the fiscal 2012 Annual Report to Shareholders on the Investor Relations homepage of our website
- Question and Answer Session
