My Starbucks Rewards™ Program Terms of Use

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF USE CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR USING THIS PROMOTIONAL PROGRAM, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS DESCRIBED HEREIN AND ALL TERMS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THESE TERMS, DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM.

These Terms of Use apply to your access to, and participation in, the My Starbucks Rewards™ program which is operated by Starbucks Corporation or its subsidiaries licensees and affiliated companies (collectively, “Starbucks”) in Canada (“My Starbucks Rewards”). These Terms of Use do not alter in any way the terms or conditions of any other agreement you may have with Starbucks for products, services or otherwise. Starbucks reserves the right to change, modify and/or eliminate My Starbucks Rewards and/or these Terms of Use or any policy, FAQ, or guideline pertaining to My Starbucks Rewards at any time and in its sole discretion. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the revisions to www.starbucks.ca, and you waive any right you may have to receive specific notice of such changes or modifications. Your participation in My Starbucks Rewards confirms your acceptance of these Terms of Use and any such changes or modifications; therefore, you should review these Terms of Use and applicable policies frequently to understand the terms and conditions that apply to My Starbucks Rewards. If you do not agree to the Terms of Use, you must stop participating in My Starbucks Rewards.

This program is not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the age of 13. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may only use My Starbucks Rewards under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms of Use.

Please read the Privacy Policy at www.starbucks.ca/about-us/company-information/online-policies/privacy-statement carefully to understand how Starbucks collects, uses and discloses information about customers.

My Starbucks Rewards is one way in which Starbucks endeavours to reward and thank loyal customers for patronizing our business and purchasing Starbucks® and Teavana® products. Members of My Starbucks Rewards are able to earn and accumulate “Stars” that can be redeemed for programme benefits, also known as “Rewards”, at participating Starbucks® and Teavana® stores in Canada. Unfortunately, not all stores have the ability to honour Rewards at this time. Visit the Store Locator at www.starbucks.ca/store-locator to find the location nearest to you that can redeem Rewards.

There are two (2) ways to enroll in My Starbucks Rewards and begin accumulating Stars: (1) If you have a physical Starbucks Card, or Starbucks Card eGift, visit https://www.starbucks.ca/card. Follow the prompts to create an account at www.starbucks.ca and register at least one (1) physical Starbucks Card, or Starbucks Card eGift. The minimum balance required to register a physical Starbucks Card, or Starbucks Card eGift is Five Dollars ($5.00).

(2) Download the Starbucks mobile app Canadian Starbucks Card to your Android™ or iPhone® device. Follow the prompts to create an account and register a digital Starbucks Card.

“Starbucks Cards” may include physical Starbucks and Teavana branded plastic cards that are available in participating Canada Starbucks® and Teavana® stores and sold by other retail locations (for example, gift card “malls” or kiosks); digital forms of the physical cards that are available through the Starbucks mobile app and Starbucks Card eGifts that can be purchased at https://www.starbucks.ca/card. For more information about Starbucks Cards, please visit https://www.starbucks.ca/card. The registration process may require that you provide the following information: username, password, email address (required in order to receive all eligible Rewards), Starbucks Card number and card security code (CSC), birthday, name, physical address, home telephone number, mobile number (optional) and marketing preferences. All of your Starbucks Cards can be activated and registered for use in My Starbucks Rewards, but you may only have one (1) account that is personal to you.

The benefits that are available to you through My Starbucks Rewards are based on the number of “Stars” that you earn. You can earn Stars in the following ways: You will earn one (1) Star for each transaction you make at participating Starbucks® and Teavana® stores and www.starbucksstore.ca using your registered Starbucks Card. At participating stores you can earn one (1) additional Star for the purchase of an At-Home coffee product including packaged coffee, Starbucks VIA® Ready Brew (single stick excluded), K-cup® packs and Verisimo™ pods. There may be other limited time promotions where Starbucks offers a “Bonus Star” or Stars on featured products and/or services. You can use any Starbucks Card registered to your Starbucks.ca account to earn Stars.

My Starbucks Rewards Levels

Currently, there are three (3) levels of benefits which are determined by the number of Stars that you accumulate in your account. By opening an account and registering a Starbucks Card, you will be automatically enrolled in My Starbucks Rewards at the Welcome Level. Earn at least five (5) Stars within the twelve (12) month period following your enrolment date and you will proceed to the Green Level. If you earn at least thirty (30) Stars within the twelve 12 month period following your enrolment date, you will qualify for the Gold Level.

Once you reach a specific Level within My Starbucks Rewards, you will receive the benefits that are applicable to that Level at that time. However, you must continue to earn and accumulate Stars in order to maintain your benefit level:

  • To maintain the Welcome Level, you must earn at least one (1) new Star during each consecutive 12-month period following your enrollment date. If you do not obtain 1 new Star in 12-months, you will no longer be eligible for the Welcome Level benefits of My Starbucks Rewards.
  • To maintain the Green Level, you must earn at least five (5) new Stars during each consecutive 12-month period following the date you reached the Green Level. If you do not obtain 5 new Stars in 12 months, you will be placed at the Welcome Level of My Starbucks Rewards and your Star balance will automatically reset to zero.
  • To maintain the Gold Level, you must earn at least thirty (30) new Stars during each consecutive 12-month period following the date you reached the Gold Level. If you do not obtain 30 new Stars in 12 months, you will be placed at the Green Level of My Starbucks Rewards and your Star balance will automatically reset to zero.

Welcome Level

By registering your Starbucks Card, you are automatically entered into the “Welcome Level” of My Starbucks Rewards. Rewards may include:

  • Your choice of one (1) complimentary handcrafted beverage, OR one (1) complimentary food item; OR one (1) complimentary ready to drink bottled beverage at participating Starbucks® stores in celebration of your birthday; OR your choice of one (1) complimentary tea beverage; OR a complimentary 1-ounce serving of loose leaf tea at participating Teavana® stores. Your complimentary birthday item will be automatically loaded onto your account and will be available to you for thirty (30) days. The offer for the free beverage or food item expires after thirty (30) days. You must present your registered Starbucks Card to the barista at a participating Canadian Starbucks or Teavana store in order to redeem your Reward and receive your complimentary birthday item. If you have provided Starbucks with a current, valid email address, you will receive a reminder email from Starbucks approximately three (3) to five (5) days prior to your birthday (that is, the birthday date of record that you provided in your Starbucks account information) indicating that your Reward is available to you. You can also view and track your available Rewards on www.starbucks.ca/account or using the Starbucks Card mobile app. You will receive only one complimentary birthday item and StarbucksStore.ca coupon regardless of the number of Starbucks Cards that you have registered to your account.

    The complimentary birthday item may be redeemed at participating Canadian Starbucks® and Teavana® stores only, and excludes: multi-serving food items (for example, a tray of Cranberry Bliss® Bars); and Starbucks Evening food and beverage menu items (for example, wine and beer).
  • Included in your birthday reward notification you will also receive a coupon for 15% off on a single purchase at www.starbucksstore.ca. This coupon will expire after thirty (30) days and cannot be combined with other offers or discounts.
  • Personalized offers and coupons. Special offers may be distributed by email or by physical mail. You must opt-in to receive promotional and marketing offers from Starbucks and provide a valid email and physical address in order to receive your special offers. Special offers are a part of a personal marketing program and offers may be customized based on purchase behaviours and preferences. Special offers may include periodic discounts on food, beverages and merchandise. Special offers may have certain restrictions including expiration dates and short, time-limited redemption periods. Special offers are personal to you and cannot be shared, copied or transferred. You may be required to present your registered Starbucks Card to the barista in order to redeem special offers. Read each offer carefully for specific details, limitations and restrictions.

Green Level

After you earn five (5) Stars in a 12-month period, you advance from the Welcome Level to the “Green Level” of My Starbucks Rewards. Rewards may include:
  • Welcome Level Rewards.
  • Free refill(s) on hot or iced brewed coffee and tea. You must use your registered Starbucks Card to purchase a beverage and then present that same Starbucks Card for refills of hot or iced brewed coffee or tea during the same store visit at participating Starbucks® and Teavana® stores.
  • Personalized offers and coupons. Special offers may be distributed by email or by physical mail. You must opt-in to receive promotional and marketing offers from Starbucks and provide a valid email and physical address in order to receive your special offers. Special offers are a part of a personal marketing program and offers may be customized based on purchase behaviours and preferences. Special offers may include periodic discounts on food, beverages and merchandise. Special offers may have certain restrictions including expiration dates and short, time-limited redemption periods. Special offers are personal to you and cannot be shared, copied or transferred. You may be required to present your registered Starbucks Card to the barista in order to redeem special offers. Read each offer carefully for specific details, limitations and restrictions.

Gold Level

After you earn thirty (30) Stars in a 12 -month period, you achieve the “Gold Level”. Rewards may include:

  • Welcome and Green Level Rewards.
  • A personalized gold coloured Starbucks Card (mailed to your physical address). In order to receive your personalized card, you must provide a valid physical mailing address. You can update your address by logging into your account at www.starbucks.ca/account. If you do not provide a valid physical mailing address, Starbucks will not be able to send you a personalized card. You will still receive the Gold Level benefits using any Starbucks Card registered to your account.
  • Additional personalized offers and coupons. Special offers may be distributed by email or by physical mail. You must opt-in to receive promotional and marketing offers from Starbucks and provide a valid email, and physical address in order to receive your special offers. Special offers may include periodic discounts on food, beverages and merchandise. Special offers may have certain restrictions including expiration dates and short, time-limited redemption periods. Special offers are personal to you and cannot be shared, copied or transferred. You may be required to present your registered Starbucks Card to the barista in order to redeem special offers. Read each offer carefully for specific details, limitations and restrictions.
  • Free drink or food item after every 12 additional Stars. Once you reach the Gold Level, you will earn a free food or beverage item after every twelve (12) additional Stars. You may choose one (1) complimentary handcrafted beverage; OR one (1) complimentary food item; OR one (1) complimentary ready to drink bottled beverage at participating Starbucks® stores; OR your choice of one (1) complimentary tea beverage; OR a complimentary 1-ounce serving of loose leaf tea at participating Teavana® stores. Your complimentary Reward will be automatically loaded onto your account and will be available to you for thirty (30) days. The offer for the free beverage or food item expires after thirty (30) days. You must present your registered Starbucks Card to the barista at a participating Canada Starbucks® and Teavana® store in order to receive your complimentary item. If you have provided Starbucks with a current, valid email address, you will receive a reminder email from Starbucks approximately twenty-four (24) hours after earning your 12th Star indicating that your Reward is available to you. You can also view and track your available Rewards on www.starbucks.ca/account or by using the Starbucks mobile app. You will receive only one (1) complimentary item regardless of the number of Starbucks Cards that you have registered to your account. If you have provided Starbucks with a current, valid email address, you will receive a reminder email from Starbucks approximately twenty-four (24) hours after earning your 12th Star indicating that your Reward is available to you. Miscellaneous

There are no membership fees associated with My Starbucks Rewards. Stars accumulated under the program are promotional and have no cash value.

Your Stars, Rewards, registered Starbucks Cards, and your account under My Starbucks Rewards are personal to you and may not be sold, transferred or assigned to, or shared with family, friends or others. You may have only one (1) My Starbucks Rewards account.

Starbucks reserves the right to terminate your account and/or your participation in My Starbucks Rewards if Starbucks determines in its sole discretion that you have violated these Terms of Use, you have more than one (1) account, or that the use of your account is unauthorized, deceptive, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful.
Starbucks also reserves the right to “unregister” and make ineligible for the My Starbucks Rewards program any Starbucks Card that has been inactive for two (2) consecutive years. Inactive is defined as no Stars earned.

Starbucks reserves the right to terminate, discontinue, modify or cancel the My Starbucks Rewards program at any time and in its sole discretion without notice to you.
